Downtown Rochelle Association

Welcome to the
Downtown Rochelle Association.
It is the goal of the DRA is to revitalize our
historic downtown district, to promote growth
and expansion of all Rochelle businesses,
through organization, promotion, and
coordination within our membership. The
DRA, working together with governmental
bodies, local committees, Rochelle Tourism
Board and the Lincoln Highway Coalition,
intends to actively pursue opportunities for
continually improving downtown Rochelle as
a destination for shopping, dining,
entertainment, business activity, and
community services.
The organization sponsors events: Maxwell
Street Days in the summer, Fall Events
including Window Poster Contest and Family
Trick or Treating in the Downtown, and
Christmas Walk the first weekend in
December. The DRA participates with the
City, Chamber, and Tourism to provide
various holiday activities for our community.
We are working on some new events
including more Historic Murals, art in the park
and battle of the bands. We also are working
toward incorporating more of the train theme
into our downtown to give our "Train Tourists"
more interest in our community during their
travels.
The organization has been planning long
term initiatives for streetscape updates,
historic facade standards, additional housing
opportunities, seasonal decorations, live
feed of the trains in various locations and
economic development activities.
The DRA is open to any business, service
organization or individual interested in
supporting the efforts of its members to
keep the downtown a successful and vital
part of the community.
